studio Sessions

Saturdays Sculpting practice with model

The sessions provide a fantastic opportunity for sculptors and visual artists to hone their skills and deepen their understanding of the human figure.

Here’s a breakdown of what you might expect:

  1. Technical Learning: The sessions give you the chance to practice important technical aspects such as proportions, balance, and anatomy. This can be invaluable for artists seeking to improve their craftsmanship and accuracy in representing the human form.
  2. Freedom in Practice: Participants are encouraged to explore their own interests and preferences during the practice sessions. Whether focusing on anatomy, specific body parts like the torso, or seeking inspiration for artistic expression, individuals are given the freedom to pursue their unique goals and creative visions.
  3. Versatile Approach: The sessions cater to a diverse range of needs and objectives. Whether artists are interested in honing their anatomical accuracy, refining specific techniques, or finding inspiration for their artwork, the environment supports various approaches and preferences.
  4. Materials and Tools: Participants are expected to bring their own materials and tools, ensuring they have everything they need to fully engage with the sculpting process. This personalization allows artists to work comfortably and efficiently, utilizing their preferred mediums and techniques.
  5. Collaborative Environment: While the focus is on individual practice and exploration, the sessions likely foster a sense of community and collaboration among participants. Sharing insights, techniques, and experiences can enrich the learning environment and inspire creative growth.

These sessions offer a well-rounded and flexible approach to sculpting and visual arts education, catering to the diverse needs and interests of participants while fostering a supportive and collaborative atmosphere.

About the sessions

Sessions are untutored weekly practices, where anyone is welcome to make the most of the opportunity of having a model posing for 5 hours.

We work with various models, males and females, and they rotate every week. They will pose in the middle of the room and rotate 360 degrees during the session.

For standing poses, you need the proper armature for your sculpture. You can buy it from the studio if you don’t have one.

Bring your materials, tools, spray water bottle and base; we will supply the sculptor’s stand for you to work.

At the end of the session, everyone is expected to clean up the stations, swipe the floor and take the work with them. Unfortunately, we don’t have space in the studio for people to leave materials or tools behind.

Feel free to bring your snacks or beverages.
