Hello again! As I mentioned, I bring nearly 30 years of experience in the industry. Originally from Spain, I’ve lived and worked in various countries, including Denmark.
I’ve been sculpting almost my entire life—since I was 13—and the human figure has always been a deep passion of mine. At the same time, I tend to get bored easily, which drives me to constantly challenge myself and explore new ways to express my art.
At the heart of every artistic expression is a creative energy that can take countless forms, limited only by imagination. This is what I love most about art, no matter the discipline.
Take a look at my latest project with Weta Workshop! This was a collaborative piece that blended traditional sculpture and digital technology. I began with a physical sculpture in plasticine using traditional methods, and then the work was scanned and finished on the computer by my colleague Jorgeline Jemen, who used ZBrush and high-definition printers.
It was an exciting experience to see both mediums come together. Although this hybrid approach is rare—since creating collectibles digitally is much easier—I have no doubt computers are invaluable tools for market-ready products. Still, there’s something irreplaceable about the life and energy in traditional sculpture.
